Best skincare routine - with correct order of application
Hello beautiful people πΈ. I welcome you all once again. I hope you all are doing fine. I am really very sorry for being late this time, i know i was supposed to post on thursday but here i am with the " Best skincare routine" for you all that is going to change your lives.
Even if we all are at home probably chilling, then also you just can't ignore your skin and yourself. Stop giving yourself the excuse that "I am not going anywhere" which is actually true but lemme tell you ...your skin needs to be pampered even at home.
And let's accept it, we all have been procrastinating it because of the busy schedule. But now! Nothing can stop us. Yeah! Thats the spirit. Now that you all are determined (at least according to me). Let's have a look at the best skincare routine that i have found so far.
Everyone's aware of the fact that different people have different skin types.
These are :
- Oily
- Normal
- Dry
- Combination
- Dehydrated
- Acne prone etc.
No one can actually tell you the best skincare routine. Its just that you need to analyse your skin and understand what it need at that perticular moment .
For example: The routine that you are following might be doing wonders for a long time, but just in case you suddenly break out then you gotta stop the routine and give your skin a break.
What i am trying to say is that you need to pay attention to your skin and give it whatever it wants. "Nothing less....nothing more".
The most important thing for a healthy skin is a balanced diet. Yes, have a look at what you eat. Include leafy vegetables, seasonal fruits, milk, egg, and other nutrient rich food items. Avoid that super yummy McDonald's and Burger king whenever possible.
"DRINK WATER" . I've mentioned this already in my previous blogs. It will surely help your skin and as well as hair. You'll experience the shine and glow from within. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.
Now, for the actual routine, i am sorry to keep to waiting for too long, but all these points were damn important and form the base of skincare.
I've tried to keep it simple yet effective.
A notable point here is that "night time" and "day time" routine are different and will be involving some different steps and products beause during day time skin requires the following:
- Hydration
- Moisturisation
- Protection from the harmful rays of sun
While night time is a relaxing period for your skin. And you can leave the products layered so that they can repair the damaged area of the skin.
So during night the skin mainly requires:
1. Cleansing
This is the obvious and the very first step. Wash your face with a mild cleanser.( choose the face wash according to your skin type).
π‘An additional tip for cleansing the face is - Apply it first in circular motions and then move your hand in upward motion. Always wash your face with normal water which is neither too hot nor too cold.
For night time routine you need to double cleanse your face.
If you have makeup on then use an oil based makeup remover. Once all the makeup is broken down from the skin cleanse it with a face wash.
If in case you are using an exfoliator you can skip the second cleansing step to make the process simple and to avoid being harsh on your skin.
2. Exfoliating
This is something which is really important. Use a mild exfoliator, which will be scrubbed on the face and will remove all the dead skin present.
Our skin loses millions of cells every week and nobody wants them to linger around the skin of your face, so as to fix this a mild exfoliator specially designed for your skin type is what you'll need.
A face scrub can be included in both day or night time. It depends completely on you, but do not overdo it.
π‘ How often should an exfoliator be used?
The answer is "TWO" times a week. Excess exfoliation can be harsh on the skin which will have an opposite impact. Experts highly recommend not to overdo this step more than twice a week.
3. Toner
Something which is optional for normal skin people.
Beacause the job of a toner is to help close the opened up pores which is quite common in people with oily skin.
For combination skin it is used only on the regions where excess oil or sebum is produced.
Toners need to be chosen wisely again according to your skin type.
They should be alcohol free.
4. Serum
Serums are mostly included in the night time skincare routine because during night the skin repair itself and serum is a great choice for this purpose.
The molecules of the serum are quite smaller and hence penetrate deep into the skin making it nourished smooth and plump.
During day time an anti oxidant serum is a great choice because it helps in neutralising the damage from uv rays.
It's completely up to you, if you want to use it twice or once but consider using it at night time for better results.
Also be wise while purchasing a serum for yourself. The ingredients should be considered according to the basic need of your skin at a perticular time. I hope i did not confused you with that statement π . If i did ..then you may clear your doubts in the comments section below.
5. Eye cream
Now here, this perticular thing need your immediate attention.
We all have been ignoring the eye cream like hell!
But it is very very important for the under eye area, because the skin in that area is quite thin as compared to the whole face.
That's why the eye region needs that extra care.
You need to apply night cream twice a day and if not twice then at least at the night time.
The eye cream also protects the under eye from other skin care products that you apply ...not all are good to the eye region. It forms a layer and prevents the other products such as serum and mosturiser to come in direct contact with the sensitive under eye area.
Also there are eye creams with spf which will prevent you from harmful uv rays of the sun.
Wearing sunglasses before stepping out in the sun is also a savoir for your eyes.
I highly highly recommend including this product in your skincare routine. Trust me your skin will thank you fo this.
6. Moisturiser
This is a product that "everybody" literally "everybody" need regardless of the skin type.
Yes! You read it correct .....all the oily skin peeps out there "do not skip this step" thinking that your skin does not need it. According to many dermats even oily skin needs moisturisation.
Obviously not the heavier sticky ones used by dry skin peeps but the ones with lighter weight that suits your skin without making it much more oily.
During night time moisturizers can be replaced by night cream. The difference between a night cream and a day cream or a moisturizer is that a night cream is a little bit more thick in consistancy as compared to a day cream.
Reason behind it is :
During night time the skin needs to retain water and prevent its loss while we are sleeping.
In order to attain this, night cream forms a layer.
During night time the skin has plenty of time to absorb the cream and help it to penetrate much more deeper into the skin.
7. Sun screen
Everyone's probably at home right now. Except the real heroes who are working for us. A big shout out to all those who are working for us.
But for all those staying at home, you might be thinking "sunscreen" .....aahh! I don't need it. But hey! hey! hey! You need it. Yeah! Even though you are not stepping out of the house, sun rays can penetrate through the glass windows and can damage your skin.
So as to protect it, you need to apply sunscreen daily during day time.
This step can definitely be skipped during night time skincare routine because there's no sun during night!! ......obvoiusly....π.
And voila! You are done!
You can apply your fav lip balm and can add a face mask according to your need.
That was the Best skincare routine with some simple steps which is going to help you get that perfect skin.
Please! Please! Do not forget to listen to your skin and follow anything blindly. These were the basic steps which need to be modified according to the need of individual.
I'll wrap up with this....thank you for visiting my blog. I hope it was helpful and if it was then please lemme know in the comments section below....i'll be more than happy.
Thank you❤
Xoxo....
