10 skincare mistakes that you are making

10 skincare mistakes that you need to avoid.

Hello beautiful people🌸. I hope you all are doing fine🤗.

Well, my previous blog was all about the best skincare routine. In case you missed it you can check that out "Here"👈.

But no matter what routine you are following or how expensive products you are using, it would all go pointless and you won't be able to see the change that you are dying for, since so long.

I am not at all embarrassed to admit in front of you guys that i have also made many skincare mistakes all these years.

We all learn from our mistakes and me personally, i've learned a lot and thats why i am here because i don't want you to repeat any of these skincare mistakes.

I'll try to mention only the important skincare mistakes. And no duhh! types mistakes.💁

Here we go....

Mistake number 1

            Over cleansing

Cleansing is the first and the most important step.
Many of us think that cleansing three or four times a day will leave you with flawless and fresh looking skin. This is a myth.

Oily skin peeps think that cleansing is helping them get rid of the oil. True, but it will also rip off all the natural oils of the skin which is something that you don't want.

Without the natural oils your skin will look dry and flaky.

A little add on to the topic here is that cleansing in the proper manner is very important. Massage in circular motion and do not miss on any corner (lower chin or behind the ears).

Also be gentle while cleansing your face.

Mistake number 2

Not knowing everything about the products you are using.

This thing no doubt is hell important because everyone is different, Skin types are different, problems are different, even the solutions to them are different. ( ufff loads of differences phewww...!!)

So what you can do is you need to know your skin type and then select the produts accordingly.

A product that is doing miracles for your friend might not work as dope for you. (But if you have same skin types then it might work🍁).

Spend time reading the ingredients of the product you are purchasing and then spend your money on that.

For example salicylic acid is good for acne prone skin. Basically its all about the active ingredients present.

P.s. If you want a blog on the list of active
ingredients and their use for different skin types then feel free to comment.💙

Mistake number 3

             Not moisturizing

Do not skip on moisturisation , no matter what skin type you are.

Moisturizers do not make your skin oily, their work is to hydrate the skin. Oily skin also need hydration.

There are moisturizers that are made for oily skin. So from now on apply moisturizer daily.

Mistake number 4

 Forgetting that beautiful neck region

You've got to agree with me when i say neck region is beautiful. Then why do we always forget to take care of it?

I was making this mistake since so long and i don't want you guys to repeat the same mistake as i did.

Do apply your skincare in the neck region as well. Moisturize it well, do not forget to apply the sunscreen to the neck region. Exfoliate it well and voila! You're done with pampering that beautiful neck of yours.

We all know skincare is not limited to only face thats why your girl is going to include the next point .💁

Mistake number 5                   Using too much of shower gel

Over using shower gel or body wash or soap is a big No! No!

You might be loving the fragrance of your favorite shower gel, but guurrll!! Or guy !!    (if anyone's reading ).
Do not use excess product.

You just need a little bit for your armpit and groin area( please do not let it enter inside.....i am only talking about the outer region).

And a small amount for the other parts.....that's it. you do not need a palm full of it, it will make your skin dry.

Mistake number 6

Over using any other product

This is a big mistake. You do not need excess product of any skincare whether its face wash, exfoliator, toner, serum or anything ....

Excess product can actually harm the skin (I've said this a lot many times but its damn important you guys!).

Always remember "less is more" strange but its true and a famous phrase when it comes to beauty products.

Here's a list of products and the amount that needs to be used.

  • Cleanser - small coin sized
  • Exfoliator  -  coin sized
  • Serum  -   pea sized
  • Moisturizer  -  coin sized
  • Sunscreen and face masks  -  coin sized
  • Eye cream  -  size of a rice grain
Mistake number 7

 Improper removal of eye makeup

We all are well aware that how important it is to remove makeup before cleansing. But what about eye makeup ?

Experts suggests to use a different makeup remover for eyes.

These are delicate organs and need the extra care. Hence invest in a good eye makeup remover which is free from chemicals.

But for time being you can use organic coconut oil for removing eye makeup.
  • Take coconut oil on a cotton pad and press it lightly on the eyes for 30 seconds. Do not rub the cotton pad on your eyes also do not apply too much pressure. And all your makeup will be off. Massage your eyes a little bit. Now you can cleanse your face and get rid of whatever's left on the face.
And yeah, do not forget to apply eye creams ....they can be your best friend if you start using them once🌸.

Mistake number 8

  Applying products in wrong order

If you've done everything....studied the product required, know your skin's requirement and baught products accordingly but still you are not able to see the difference in your skin. Then you need to check the order in which you are applying your skincare.

The thumb rule for order of product application is from thinnest to thickest. Yeah! Check the consistansy of the product.

Apply the thinnest product first and then go ahead with thicker and thicker products.

The reason being that the thick products will sit on the skin and cover the top layer thereby hindering the entrance of other products which are much thinner in consistancy.

So, whats actually happening is that only a single product that you've applied at first has gone down in the skin while the others are just sitting on top of it and  little or no amount of the other products has actually entered the bottom layers of the skin.

I hope you got my point🍁

Mistake number 9

Using makeup removal wipes

Wipes are certainly the most easiest and quickest way to remove makeup. Removing makeup has never been that easy before.

But hey! Spoiler alert! Every beautiful and easy to get hands on thing comes with some cons.
This is also true in the case of makeup remover wipes. Some of them contain alcohol which is harmful for the skin.

They tend to clog the pores of skin which will lead to acne and will damage the skin in the long run.

I am not telling you to boycott them completely ...but avoid using them whenever possible.

Mistake number 10

   Not changing the sheets often

This one's quite strange but its important to change the pillow covers and sheets frequently.

Your skin...specially the face comes in direct contact with sheets while you are sleeping.

The sheets might contain bacteria and dust which can enter the pores and will ultimately lead to acne and other skin related problems.

You won't even be able to guess the reason behind your skin issue.
Trust me even the dermats recommend to have a check on the frequency of changing the duvet and sheets.

Pay attention to this and i am sure you'll see a definite reduction in your skin issues.

So yeah! This was my take on the common skincare mistakes that you need to avoid.

I hope these will help you to enhance you skin game. 💙
